Augustine, author of Augustine's Laws and retired Chairman & CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation. As usual I'm going to quote from a few pages. Augustine's family name, Aurelius, suggests that his father's ancestors were freedmen of the gens Aurelia given full Roman citizenship by the Edict of Caracalla in 212. Norm Augustine, former President & CEO of Lockheed Martin (1997), wrote a book called “Augustine's Laws” about the pitfalls of the US Aerospace industry. Which is to say, natural law is what we rationally understand about divine law. Is an excellent book by Norman Augustine (isbn 0-670-80942-X). Perhaps they are not aware of Augustine's 16TH law. €But as far as racial tension goes, here in St. Posted by Gracchi at 10:22 pm DiggIt! Aquinas's practical application of the natural law is as a standard to which we must hold our laws. Employers, fearful of religious expression in the workplace, must be even more nervous after yesterday's story about the forced (?) removal of a Lutheran chaplain from her post as executive officer at the Air Force Academy. The polity was thus seen as a Christian community living under laws agreed on through reason, ruled on behalf of the common good by a ruler who was bound and constrained by these same laws. Augustine it's the old socks, just new shoes. That the physical laws explain everything? €Blatant injustice like that doesn't happen very often anymore, and that's one of the benefits of having legislation,” he said. First the serious quotes: To finish first you must first finish. The fact that Augustine believed, like Newton, that the natural laws existed and miracles violated them, suggests there is a history here- but for me that history is still unmapped. Putt's Law is as true today as it was when techno-everyman Archibald Putt first stated it.
